Edo de Waart
Dvořák's Cello Concerto
This marks the beginning of a two-week residency for Edo de Waart with the Orchestra. He served as its music director from 1986-95, and whenever he returns to conduct he re-ignites the chemistry that made those years such an artistic high-water mark. This week, the focus is on the beloved Cello Concerto by Antonin Dvorak, featuring the Orchestra's principal cellist, Anthony Ross. Next week, an all-Wagner program with the pre-eminent Wagnerian soprano today, Jane Eaglen.

Music:
ESCHER: Music for the Spirit in Mourning
BRAHMS: Variations on a Theme by Haydn
DVOŘÁK: Cello Concerto

Edo de Waart, conductor
Anthony Ross, cello
