Vänskä Visits Scotland
Lydia Hong is the ripe old age of 18, and a few years ago took home all the honors in the WAMSO Young Artist Competition. Part of her prize is played out this week when she performs the golden Scottish Fantasy of Max Bruch with the Orchestra. Speaking of Scotland, Music Director Osmo Vänskä, spent several seasons before coming to Minnesota transforming the Royal BBC Scottish Orchestra into a world-class ensemble. So, his reading of the Mendelssohn Symphony No. 3 (Scottish) is filled with first-person insight. Let's see if he wears the kilt!
