Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg |
Salerno-Sonnenberg
One of the first stops on Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg's remarkable career was Orchestra Hall, where she performed Brahms' Violin Concerto with the Minnesota Orchestra. At the time, she was just a kid with a phenomenal violin technique, but now she's a world-traveled veteran whose playing has deepened and ripened. This week she's back at Orchestra Hall to perform a piece that demands every ounce of technique from a master: Shostakovich's Violin Concerto No. 1. Music Director Osmo Vänskä conducts this all-Russian program and concludes it with a favorite: Symphonic Dances of Sergei Rachmaninov.
